I'm not sure why the links aren't working for you! I just checked them all and the All Things Upper Elementary blog links worked for me. Everything but Mrs. Bainbridge's resource was working, so I did have a quick Google and updated that link. I hope you enjoy the activities. Thanks for reading! amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15252920643013195783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2323199342928849197.post-52657877573701120892017-10-09T22:48:06.472-04:002017-10-09T22:48:06.472-04:00Hi. I realize this post is about 3 years old, but I'd be interested in the "All things upper elementary" blog and your "greetings and games." Thanks!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14827884904602983350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2323199342928849197.post-71986809934727678362014-07-31T18:35:49.147-04:002014-07-31T18:35:49.147-04:00Hi Kym,

Students are allowed to sign up any day of the week. I never had a problem with more than 15 kids signing up on Monday ;) If I saw a line forming at the clipboard I would just say, "It looks like there are more than 3 people, so [students at the end] you'll have to wait until tomorrow." Those who remembered the next day would once again be "first come, first served."

In terms of deciding, I go with my gut. If a child who is normally quiet wants to share, I want to hear them. If I know there is a huge life event going on with a student that they shared with me and want to tell the whole class, I will make sure they share ASAP. If there's no other extenuating circumstances, I mainly go alphabetical starting at the beginning one week and the middle the next week.

I put a check mark on each name as the week goes on so the same kid does not get to share twice in a week, and I clean the board at the end of the week. If there is anyone who I didn't get to hear from on Friday, I leave their name on for the following week. And don't worry; they remind me, "You said I could share this week!" :) amberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15252920643013195783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2323199342928849197.post-18906935199057254072014-06-27T16:17:07.189-04:002014-06-27T16:17:07.189-04:00For your shares board - do students sign up each d...For your shares board - do students sign up each day, or do all students who want to share that week sign up on Monday? If they all sign up at the beginning of the week how do you decide who shares each day?Kymhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11570086351435422183noreply@blogger.com
