Blog Follower Appreciation: To My First 100 (plus a few extra)!

This is an exciting week here at Shut the Door and Teach!  Not only do I have just one week left of school, I recently and very quickly (in just the last few days) reached 100 followers!  As a result, my regularly scheduled post about the science unit my class recently finished will go up on next week.  I wanted to use this post for a proper thank you.

First, I want to welcome my new followers.  I'm guessing at least a few of you found me through my friend The Peanut Gallery's giveaway (still going on at time of posting, but now closed).

Second, I want to thank all my followers for signing up.  It's a wonderful feeling that I'm being heard by people all over the country, and even in other English speaking countries!

As a thank you to everyone, new and veteran readers, I decided to do a giveaway.  Not a raffle...a giveaway.  That's right, for a limited time (one week) you can download a complete FREE copy of one of my fraction task card activities, normally available for purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers (sorry, this giveaway is now closed).  I hope you'll leave a comment below to let me know what you think!

  1. I am so excited to download this! My 6th graders have such a terrible time with long division, so this is perfect because it bridges the concrete with the abstract :) Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. You're welcome :) It REALLY has been a help. My students remember long division so much better, and actually like practicing it with these cards. I agree it's because it's concrete. Even more so than with base ten blocks or place value chips. Everyone likes to deal with cold hard cash, even if it's just Monopoly money, haha.

      Thanks for following!

  2. Thank you, Amber! I like the idea of using play money and wallets to make the concept of estimating division more real-life for the students.
